Welcome to Mount Waverly Sports

We are a community sporting club. We offer various programs and opportunities for our players, coaches and volunteers to promote their individual growth within and outside of football and netball. We also promote the development of the community at large.

Football

Our football activities cut across the following categories:

Young Girls Football

The participation of females in football is no longer news, and the population of female players continue to increase day by day. The Young Girls Football is the junior team for women’s football. It also formed part of the junior football team. Increasing the level of female participation in football is central to the organisation’s ability to reach the goals and objectives outlined.

Women's Football

Women have been playing football for as long as the game has existed. The Women’s football teams consisted of women only and existed throughout the world’s professional football teams. At Mount Waverly Sports, we hold a women football team.

Junior Football

This is football played at the junior level. Our junior football consists of young male and female football teams. The junior teams are the younger version to the Waverley blues and are important to the growth of our community football club. This is because they are an integral part of any football club and prove the strength of any football club.

Netball

Our netball consists of a group of netball teams which are both social and competitive. It was created in Mount Waverley from our football club in 2016. In our first year, we won the Division 3 Netball EFL Premiership, and we were also runners-up in our social Comp at Jells Park!

What We Are

Community

Our Community is what we make out of it. It is also what defines us as members of the Community. As a sports club, it forms part of our ideologies. Hence, we appreciate our local Community, and the strong influence the Club can have on all players, coaches, officials, and volunteers. Outside the field, we offer various programs and opportunities for our players, coaches and volunteers to promote their individual growth outside of football and netball and the development of the community at large.

Facility Funds

This facility fund is focused on supporting the development of new or refurbished local football facilities of the Mount Waverley Sports. Mount Waverley Sports is no doubt built on the solid foundation of hard work and perseverance. However, even at that, it requires a wide range of facilities to ensure it can remain functional. Even more, it needs to upgrade existing facilities to ensure that it meets up with present standards. This is where the facility funds become relevant.

Volunteers

Volunteers are a group of people who give out time and efforts for community services. Volunteering is an unpaid activity and a means of giving back to society and is largely beneficial.  As a community sporting clubs, we are run by the volunteers.

History

Mount Waverley Sports emerged through the unification of two renowned traditional clubs: Mount Waverley Burwood Football Club (MWFC) and the Waverley Football Club (WFC) in 1998 to represent the Waverley district of the City of Monash. Mount Waverley Sports is no doubt built on the solid foundation of hard work and Perseverance.
