Pre-Season Training will start on Monday 30th January 2012 @ 6pm.
Training will be every Monday & Wednesday @ 6pm at Mayfield Park.
We will meet at the MWFC Clubrooms (Mayfield Park, Mayfield Drive, Mount Waverley 3149).

It is with great pleasure to announce the coaching staff for the 2012 season:
Senior Coach: Andrew “Tats” Taranto
“Tats” has been part of the MWFC since 2009, first as Reserves coach (2009-2010) and now as Senior coach (2011–).
He coached the reserves to be Runners Up in 2009 but led our Reserves to Premiership glory in 2010 with an undefeated season.
He coached the Seniors in 2011 to be Runners Up whilst taking out the Minor Premiership.
Senior Assistant Coach: Jarrod “Jazz” Wilkin
“Jazz” has been with the club since 2006 where he has been the best player the Mountain Lions has produced since it started up.
He has won 3 SFL Div 3 League Best & Fairests in 5 years and has been a Senior Playing Assistant Coach for the last 2 years.
He has won 5 Senior Best & Fairests (2006-2010) and came 3rd in 2011 despite playing almost half the game time he has played in previous years (still able to win the 2011 SFL Div 3 League Best & Fairest).
Reserves Coach: Robert “Tigs” Tighello
“Tigs” has been with the club since 2007 where he has been the best defender the Mountain Lions has produced since it started up.
His first coaching stint ever was with the Reserves in 2011, where he coached them to a Premiership in an undefeated season.
He has vast sporting experience at an elite national level in cycling which he has brought that same professionalism and determination to the MWFC.

Both the SENIORS and RESERVES are into their respective Grandfinals for 2011!
Both finished the Home & Away Season as Minor Premiers (The Reserves are undefeated and have been since the 2009 Grandfinal).

Past Players Day is approaching!
It is a good chance for all you past players of the MWFC to come down and support the current generation dominating Div 3!
It’s going to be a great game with 1st vs 2nd and both sides will be making sure their players are gearing up for Finals!

The MWFC Major Raffle for 2011 was a MAJOR SUCCESS!
Plenty of people were in attendance, everybody had a good time and the final 2 ended up splitting the prize.
One of the winners was our great Captain/Assistant Coach Jarrod Wilkin, with a kid on the way (we’re all hoping a boy who will go on to Captain our club in the future!), the prize will come in very nicely for Jarrod, Taz and their young family.
Our next function is DIRTY DISCO IV..(Saturday 30th July @ MWFC Clubrooms) and if you’ve been to the previous ones, you know how EPIC they are!

It is with great sadness to inform you all of the passing of Steve Austin (Pommy’s Dad).
He passed away on the weekend due to a heart attack.
Steve Austin was a past player and supporter of the club, and was the one who brought ‘Pommy’ (Dave Austin) down to our club.
Please show your support to Pommy and the rest of the Austin family.
